Artist Lucas F. Oliveira, a senior student in the Visual Arts program, unveiled his artistic installation, describing it as exploring “a state where body and space are one and continuous.”
The audience is “invited to hear, in real-time, the heartbeat of the body and participate in the sensory and immediate dimension it exists in,” explained the 17-year-old student.
Taking the form of a three-meter iron cube, the installation will be displayed outdoors at the main entrance of Alves Martins Secondary School from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Lucas F. Oliveira, who is completing secondary education, describes himself as “passionate about artistic and aesthetic creation, and the critical and creative exercise in his experience with the world and others.”
‘Corpo ao Cubo’ is part of the final projects from the Arts Workshop and Multimedia Workshop courses.
This public presentation also aims to be “a manifesto about art and a farewell gesture” by the student, who aspires to continue his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
Throughout the nine-hour performance, the student will be accompanied by a physiologist and a nutritionist.
